Advent and Christmas are times of joy and merriment, fairy lights and sparkles. On the other hand, in many different ways, 2016 has been a difficult year. For some of us, this time of year is full of painful emotions and sad memories. Our grief, doubt or sadness can seem even more stark in contrast with all that joyful celebration.
So, this year, we’re trying something different… On December 21st, the longest night of the year, we have the chance to gather together. In a safe, quiet way, with some words, carols and prayers we will focus on the Light and Hope Christ brings, while not pretending that the darkness doesn’t exist.
