Small Groups
Small Groups are a vital part of our church family life. This is where we grow, care and serve together.
Small Groups are about building relationships and friendships, supporting each other in prayer and practical ways, developing and deepening our faith together, studying God’s word and having fun. They are a place where you should be safe to be yourself, to use your gifts and talents and share honest questions.
If you are new to our church they are also a great way of getting to know a few folk really well and quickly, which makes settling into church that much easier.
We encourage everyone to be involved in a small group. They meet at various times during the week so there is plenty of choice. Why don’t you just give it a try?
“Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
(Romans 12:4-5)
There is a great mix of locations and times the various groups get together.
It can be a bit confusing, as some groups don’t meet every week or always in the same location. Checking the weekly info sheet is a good start. Or get in touch with the listed contact.

We are made up of young mothers, not so young mothers, a few grandmothers and those who find it difficult to get to small group meetings at night.
We aim to make it a relaxed atmosphere as there are usually some rowdy toddlers in the background.
We normally spend a bit of time chatting, eating healthy and calorie free food (not!), and have a wee Bible study before praying together.

We meet with a regular theme of tea, cakes, podcasts and prayers. The aim of our meetings is to encourage one another in our “with God” life.
In order to focus our prayers, we use a prayer board which is a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness.

There are usually around 6 of us (only one male!), and we gather together for a blether and cuppa, and begin our study at 10:30. Our studies are usually based on a Bible book, and we are always encouraged to see how the whole of Scripture fits together.
We do have a lot of laughs, too. The aim is to finish by noon, but people are welcome to stay for further chat.
Every 2nd Tuesday • 7:30pm

Our experience ranges from people who have been Christians for a short time to those who have been Christians for many years. Our joint desire is to grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ
But grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ – 2Peter 3:18 (NIV) and to build our relationships with one another as we grow.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you – John 15:12 (NIV)
We usually have a time of fellowship, a time of study, and a time of prayer. We are hoping to extend our worship through music in the coming session.

Our aim is to build friendship over a cup of tea or coffee and discuss issues from the Bible which are basic to our Christian Faith and relevant to our own lives in today’s society.
A fab group with fab food on the agenda! How can you beat ‘beetroot soup’!

As the name suggests, (not very original but it has stuck), this group meets in either a Tillicoultry or Dollar home.
We are a relaxed group who take turns in leading the discussions, which are based around resources varying from video presentations, Bible studies, books and podcasts. It is a really good way to get to know some people in the church better, and we all welcome the opportunity to pause in the middle of a busy week to learn and pray together. The year does, of course, include a few social evenings involving the whole family and usually involving food!
Anyone is welcome to join us, even for a short time. In view of our nomadic status, contact Claire Bawn for details of where we shall be!
